It’s been nearly eighteen years since we served up our first plate of food under the Forkingout name. Throughout the years you could always rely on seeing our name next to a little pile of raspberries on our business cards, letterheads and website. The reason for raspberries was because they have always been one of our favourite fruits, the perfect balance between sweet and sharp, available across a long growing season, versatile and beautiful to look at too. But, after so many years, we decided that we needed a bit of a change.
We’ve grown and changed a lot from those early days. For starters we have a bigger team now, still fun, friendly and down to earth, but able to offer a wider range of services and dishes and always with an on-time, can do friendly approach. Whether it’s fine dining, light business lunches, a sumptuous wedding spread or simply afternoon tea, we are able to cater for your needs; and the raspberries, we felt, no longer catered for us.
Agreeing that a change was needed, we got in local brand and web agency enotions to help and together we’ve created a whole new look for the business; simple, stylish, fun but still professional, and we’re delighted. So much cleaner than our pile of raspberries, our fork motif really stands out on our vans, letterheads, web site and everywhere else it can be found. It also works brilliantly on clothing! We’ve had so many lovely comments about it from our customers, venues and suppliers, how it really catches the eye and is ‘just us!’.
With the brand done, we then turned out attention to our web site. The first we all agreed was that we needed new photography. enotions recommended photographer Paul Clifton, who came to our offices and kitchens, and out on location, and blew us away with his wonderful food, client and action shots. Armed with an amazing library of images, enotions then delighted us by designing and building our new web site, writing all the content for the site as well. All our menus have been reworked and redesigned as well, now available on new headed paper and in an easy to read format.
The key thing for the site was to showcase what we offer to clients, make it easy for them to find what they wanted and, of course, to show off our food. We think the site succeeds on all levels.
We have a great plans for our web site and future online activity, as we do for Forkingout, whilst retaining the fundamental principles upon which Forkingout was founded; of great service, great food and a can do friendly approach! And as for the raspberries? Well, we couldn’t get rid of them completely! If you download our menus, you’ll see what we ended up doing with them.
